Allowing Others to Give in Honor of Our Babies

By February 12, 2019No Comments

If you’re a Facebook user, I’m sure you’ve seen friends raising money for their favorite cause on their birthday or in memory of someone they love. We’ve even had a few parents do this for Sharing Parents. Fundraisers like these give friends and family an opportunity to recognize your baby’s life, acknowledge your loss, and show their support in a way that benefits others.

I did one of these fundraisers for my daughter’s fifth birthday and I was overwhelemed by the support I received from sometimes the most unexpected people, all in honor of my daughter’s life and the impact she’s had on others through her story and my work with Sharing Parents. It was incredibly moving to me personally (not to mention beneficial to Sharing Parents) – I felt affirmed that her life has made a difference.

For those parents who would appreciate the opportunity, we wanted to find a way to offer this type of “peer to peer” fundraising in a more personal manner than the generic Facebook fundraiser or other options available on social media. (Let’s be honest… they’re usually very impersonal and that just doesn’t work for our babies.)

We’ve partnerd with Give Lively to offer a beautiful peer to peer fundraising option that allows parents to create a digital fundraiser in honor of their baby that can then be shared on any social media platform or by email. All proceeds benefit Sharing Parents and the work we do to support parents through loss.
