Sharing Parents
was started in Sacramento in 1981 by a Lamaze instructor who saw the need
in the lives of her students when their babies died. We are a support
group for those whose babies have died from the time of conception through
early infancy.
We are an
all-volunteer, non-profit, tax exempt organization, supported only by
volunteers and donations.
There are no
fees to attend our meetings.
Sharing Parents is based in Sacramento, CA.
We offer a
variety of meetings, telephone support, a newsletter, and Internet
resources:
General Meetings for bereaved parents
suffering the loss of their baby(ies).
Subsequent Pregnancy Meetings for
parents contemplating a future pregnancy and those who are currently
pregnant.
Prenatal Decision Meetings for those
parents who have made the difficult decision to interrupt their very
wanted pregnancies after learning that their baby had severe or fatal
fetal anomalies.
Short Term Grief Series of weekly
meetings for parents with recent losses.
Listening Line telephone support
between meetings for parents, including fathers, who would like to talk to
a compassionate parent.
Prenatal Decision Phone Support is telephone support
between meetings for parents who have made the difficult decision to
interrupt their very wanted pregnancies after learning that their baby had
severe or fatal anomalies.
Newsletter - 4 issues printed a year.
Parent to Parent Connection for
parents who would like to support and connect directly with one another
through email.
